Born and raised in Texas, my grandfather, Earl Cameron, spent his life trying to strike it rich with an oil or gas well. Six months after he died, a well was erected on land to which he could claim mineral rights. This film tells the story of the waning legacy of oil and gas as it impacts my family: my grandfather who died having never realized his dream, his children who continue to carry a shred of hope, and the granddaughter who seeks to make sense of such high stakes. Will his dreams be realized at 17,000 feet below the surface or will his family suffer another disappointment? Total run time is 13:00 minutes.
